Rachel’s first stint at Taft was as an intern from Central Connecticut State University. While at Central Connecticut she maintained Dean's List status. She was a Golden Key National Honor Society member, recipient of the Joseph Abraham District I Scholarship, served as president of the athletic training club, and graduated with high honors in May 2006. Following graduation, Rachel worked as a certified athletic trainer with HealthSouth sports medicine and physical therapy and worked at Avon Old Farms. She is a member of the National Athletic Training Association, National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, and the International Association of Kenisiotaping. She maintains her EMT License and recently became certified in the Kenisiotaping methods (CKTP) as well as being certified as a Specialist in Fitness Nutrition (SFN). She plans on becoming a certified strength and conditioning specialist. She resides in Waterbury with her rescued pitbulls: Cali and Simon.
