Lauren graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in international studies and a minor in psychology. She later earned a master’s degree in social work from Columbia University. While in graduate school, Lauren held clinical placements as a school counselor and as a therapist for clients impacted by medical illness. Lauren also has postgraduate training in family and couples therapy from the Ackerman Institute in New York City.
After graduating from Columbia, Lauren worked for a variety of nonprofit agencies and mental health clinics in New York City. Her experience includes providing therapy to those living with mental illness, substance abuse, chronic medical illness, and histories of neglect and trauma. She has worked extensively with families and children of all ages. A member of the Taft class of 1999, Lauren was delighted to return to the school in February 2014 to join the counseling department. In addition to her counseling role, Lauren serves as the Day Student Advisor.
Lauren studied Mandarin Chinese for ten years and has lived abroad in Beijing, Harbin and Shanghai, China. She currently lives on campus with her husband, Carter Mosch, and their son.
