Idara is a member of Taft’s class of 2011 and its recipient of the Joseph L. Cunningham Award which recognizes the student who has worked selflessly for the betterment of the Taft School community. After Taft, Idara attended Wesleyan University where this past spring she received her B.A. in African American studies. While at Wesleyan, Idara was a student-athlete and captain on the Varsity Women’s Track and Field team, as well as a Head Resident during her senior year, and Resident Advisor in years prior. Prior to her college graduation, Idara spent a summer at Choate-Rosemary Hall as a teaching intern, teaching two high school classes in Public Speaking and Design Thinking. At Taft, Idara will be the Dankin Fellow teaching in the English Department as well as pursuing her studies though Penn Residency Master’s in Teaching program. Idara will live in USGD, she will coach Varsity Volleyball, and will be an Assistant Coach for JV Girls’ Basketball and Track.
